This monochromatic image was derived from an original photograph taken in the summer of 2003. While the sky was enhanced for dramatic effect, the wind effect was real and is part of the original photograph, which was taken at the eastern border of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, while a severe thunderstorm watch was in effect. This digital image was derived from an actual photograph taken in the winter of 1992, and really early in the morning. The glow was part of the original image. The mask was a simple light to dark gradient (top to bottom) that produced the darkening effect. This was done to mask the name of the business that resided at the time. The original photograph was taken in Alsip, Illinois. (58.4KB, 1024 x 768)
